Reno is ugly – Lake Tahoe is beautiful
Today’s route had me rolling from Sacramento to Lake Tahoe. I’m not sure which of my drives has been the most beautiful, and this one (with the exception of Reno) is not exception. There isn’t much to say more than the pictures say.

Northern California Road Trip
For my day job, I am the Director of Internet Technology for a hotel franchising company. My primary job duty is website development and content management for 250+ budget hotels. My skill set as a photographer has not gone un-noticed, and I have been on a number of road trips to visit our hotels to photograph them for web and some print use.
All of my road trips have been in the Southeast – Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina and South Carolina; however, coming up in a few weeks, I will be heading out west for a two week road trip through central and northern California. I am looking at twelve days of driving 1900+ miles to visit and take pictures of 24 hotels. I have managed to arrange my trip to include drives along the Pacific Coast Highway, and a half day visit to Yosemite National Park.
My friend Brian Garret does a goodly amount of travel and has become quite adept at photo and travel blogging. See his website at packingacanon.info to see what I mean. I need to get Brian to share his workflow with me so I can produce a better blog for this trip than I did for my January trip to Yiwu, China.
So coming up in May, I will have a blog about traveling to Northern California.
